Well, if that is the only problem, they will rather just fix it there, or give you an advisory. They will only fail if there is a long list of things wrong with it, so either way, it won't matter ever so much. With most places if it fails and you return for the retest with X amount of days, they will retest free of charge.

I agree with Ash. I have just had 20 hours worth of driving lessons and my instructor thinks I'm well away and won't need anymore lessons. That cost me just under £400...I would hate to have to fork out for a whole years worth of lessons.
Insurance prices are a joke as are the price of lessons really...
If they want us to wait a year, then the cost of other stuff has to be reduced to compensate and with our Government having bigger issues, they won't do it. Also, why should a driver who has had his/her licence 20 years, pay less for insurance or fuel just because the driving age went up. It makes no sense and there will be too many complications that they won't be able to sort that will help it take longer.

I wouldn't be very surprised if the age did change some time in the future, but when it does, we will know at least a year in advance.
Part of me thinks it isn't true. They can't just put it in to action that quickly car they? For example, when the changed the legal smoking age to 18, they advertised it for months with a set date "On The 31st Of October You Must...etc."

Do a print screen on their wallpaper, set the image as the background, the right click on the desktop, "Arrange Icons By..." then untick "show desktop icons" then, the background shows the image, when they click on the "images" nothing happens

The fact that the car isn't theirs, people tend to treat it like shit. So, you can never expect a courtesy car to be anywhere near as nice as if it was your own daily drive. Peoples mentality I guess. That's why most vans are if a crappy condition.

My car was taken to Main Dealer. We still waiting around and watched the guy do his thing.
But if you have taken your car to main dealer, then it will be fairly new. There is a local guy who repairs car, he has his own business and his own courtesy car...Its a "E" reg Nissan Micra.

I've accompanied many people on MOT's, even my own car. Never have we had a coutersy car. MOT's only take about an hour. Book it in and wait around, or even chat to the guy while he does it and put a £10 note in front of his eyes if he notices anything dodgy!
